Lily loved to learn about far-off places. Every day, she imagined soaring over tall mountains or wading through sparkling rivers. "Oh, how I wish I could see them all!" she sighed. Suddenly, her little bird friend, Pip, chirped, "With a sprinkle of magic and a flap of my wings, we can, Lily! Let's explore the wondrous landforms of our Earth!"

Up they soared, higher than the tallest trees! "Wow, Pip, look at these giants!" Lily exclaimed. Pip explained, "These are mountains, Lily! They are natural elevations of the Earth's surface, rising abruptly from the surrounding level. Some are rocky, some are covered in snow, and they are home to many unique animals!"
