Founder & Full-Stack AI Engineer · MintMyStory
Arjun is a registered engineer with the Nepal Engineering Council and the founder of MintMyStory. He designed and built the entire platform — including the Character Anchoring system that enables visually consistent AI characters without photo uploads.
Background
Before founding MintMyStory, Arjun built NIRAMAYA — an edge-AI offline medication adherence app — where he developed deep experience in building highly reliable tools with strict data privacy, utilizing on-device machine learning and computer vision.
The motivation for MintMyStory came from a specific technical problem: generative AI models produce a different character face on every image. For children's books, this is disqualifying — a child cannot follow a story if their brain must re-identify the protagonist on every page. Arjun built Character Anchoring to solve this without falling into the trap of photo uploads, which would generate biometric data for thousands of children.
He also built the ADHD-friendly story mode after researching the sleep and attention regulation literature for children with ADHD — specifically the work of Dr. Russell Barkley on self-regulation deficits and Van der Heijden et al. on melatonin onset delay in ADHD children.
Areas of Expertise
AI Character Consistency
Designed the Character Anchoring system that maintains consistent character visuals across multi-page illustrated stories without requiring photo uploads.
Privacy-First Architecture
Architected MintMyStory to be COPPA-compliant with zero biometric data collection — a direct technical response to the child privacy risks in consumer AI tools.
ADHD-Friendly Design
Developed the sensory-calm palettes, short-beat narrative structure, and controlled pacing features that make MintMyStory effective for neurodivergent readers.
Full-Stack Engineering
Built the complete MintMyStory orchestration engine using NestJS and BullMQ, implemented Redis distributed locking, and developed real-time generation tracking via Server-Sent Events (SSE) and RxJS.
Children's Digital Media
Applied findings from children's literacy research, ADHD sleep studies, and educational psychology to inform MintMyStory's story structure and user interface.
Why I Built MintMyStory
The generative AI explosion produced incredible technology — but nearly every personalized storybook tool failed in the same two ways: privacy and consistency. Platforms were asking parents to upload dozens of photos of their children. From an engineering standpoint, that's generating biometric data on children — the most sensitive possible category of personal data.
Character Anchoring is the technical answer I built to that problem. You describe your child in text. The system generates a consistent visual identity from that description. The character looks like your child across every page — and zero biometric data is ever created or stored.
